Of times past…

So it’s 2009… But I’m not going to talk about the year ahead right now, first I’m going to look back at my last few weeks with nostalgia.

Zeen celebrated his “25th”* birthday and I planned a surprise party for him, but to throw him off completely it was the week after his actual birthday. He turned out to be dramatically surprised, after much difficulty of keeping the secret from him. I’m a terrible liar and nearly blew it only hours before the bash. The whole planning was done so sneakily I actually felt bad, but it made me realise even more how close Zeen and I actually are.

I’m also 27 now, I reminisce of my times chatting on IRC and my response to the common ASL would be; 20 f CT… I just feel so totally old when I replace that one zero with a 7. It’s a good thing I’m not on IRC anymore, at least I’ve grown up a little. Though in consolation, for my 27th birthday I had a sleepover, something I’ve never had before. ‘Twas great fun, thanks (hubby’s) cousins!

Then there’s the surprise gift that I eagerly waited for from Zeen… It turned out to be a beautiful tanzanite pendant set in white gold with a matching white gold chain. I’m already attached to it! NK got me a set of the Cape Malay cookbooks, thanks love, I’ll be using them constantly. Even though I didn’t get my MacBook Pro… I love everything I did get.

Also, I’ve had braai meat almost every other day over the last few weeks, I think I want to go on a fish and chicken diet now. Sweet and sour chicken may be on the cards for supper tonight.

During my few days off work I spent a lot of my time at the beach, my glowing and tanned cheeks can account for that and Cape Town weather has been really great, minus the wind. I already miss the beach.

Then I get back to the office this morning to find my twitter account has somehow fallen victim to a phising scam. I have no idea how though.

Now for 2009 resolutions, or something like it… I’m going to take a walk during my lunch break.

*He’s actually 30… but he’ll be 25 forever to me ;)
