Week 1 of recovery…

So it’s been a week since my surgery and I’m rapidly running out of series and movies to watch. At the rate I’m going, I’m going turn into a couch potato and I don’t even have a couch. If my movement wasn’t as limited as it was and if I were allowed to drive then I’d probably be snacking and buying so much junk food and I’d pick up weight like who knows what.

Otherwise, it hasn’t been too bad… on the contrary, it’s been very exciting. I became an aunt and I’m listening to my sister talking about her daughter not allowed outside until she’s 30. I’m laughing at how protective she is of a little girl that’s only 3 days old.

Stealer of hearts!

As far as my recovery’s going, I now understand why I have 6 weeks to recover. I don’t have the same stamina as before my surgery and I can feel the strain in my lower back when I pick up my filled 1 litre bottle of water on my bed side. I can’t bend at all and I haven’t worn anything other than pyjamas or track pants in the last week. I felt like a vampire when I briefly stepped outside and felt the sun yesterday.

Week 1 hasn’t been too bad, more lonely because everyone’s working and I’m not particularly allowed to sit (for too long) and hence, not at a computer that often. I guess not having access to the internet is a good thing also because the one thing I’ve been really wanting to do, is SHOP! I’m seriously craving some retail therapy.

Why don’t you kill two birds with one wad of cash and go shopping for a lot of food. Like maybe a gazillion pieces of sushi?
